Transpoco connects Aplicom A1 and Garmin navigator in Ireland
Transpoco Ltd. in Dublin has developed a vehicle tracking and fleet management system combining Aplicom A1 with Garmin in-car navigation device.

The new vehicle tracking and messaging system enables advanced two-way communication where both normal text messages and navigation coordinates can be sent to the driver and where driver can send text messages back to base or confirmations and updates on the jobs that have been assigned to him. Once the driver hits accept on a job he is directed straight to the exact position.

The system totally removes the need to give directions over the phone. It provides fleet managers with time and cost savings due to its advanced tracking and communication.

"Since installing the Transpoco tracking and messaging system we have greatly improved our productivity. We were able to employ drivers with no familiarity of our routes and area and now they work better than any of our previous employees" says Brian Patterson, Director of Banagher Tyres, and continues "We have also been able to cut back on paperwork, time, and mobile phone bills and integrate seamlessly with our accounts and invoicing system".
Kuwait Petroleum adopted Aplicom products in its fuel delivery solution
Kuwait Petroleum Benelux (Q8 Petroleum) successfully implemented a fully operational and efficient on board computer system in its Benelux truck fleet. The solution was developed by Aplicom’s long-term Belgian partner, Sonal nv.

The on board computer system consists of the Aplicom fleet telematics unit, portable touch-screen computer TouchPC and the Mobitex radio modem. The Aplicom device handles the data transfer between the TouchPC and the Mobitex modem. At the same time the Aplicom device provides continuous and very accurate mileage registration. Since the installation of the system, Q8 Petroleum has enabled daily fuel deliveries to all Q8, Q8 easy and Tango stations in the whole Benelux region.

The Q8 drivers no longer need to manually record data as the documents can be reliably printed out from the TouchPC. The Sonal interface allows the Q8 management to monitor the tasks of the individual trucks and send updates through a standard browser interface.

"Easy installation of Aplicom solution was adapted to specific requirements of Q8 by Sonal. The solution has proved to be very reliable and efficient", says Jean-Marc Van Ravels, Coordinator of Automated Administration of Kuwait Petroleum.
New GPS receiver offers better sensitivity and faster time to fix
Rapid development in satellite positioning technology allows Aplicom to introduce again a new GPS receiver in the A1 product. The new 50 channel ublox LEA-5A GPS&Galileo receiver offers better sensitivity and faster time to fix. The receiver is directly compatible with the previous SuperSense GPS receiver and comes from the same Swiss supplier. This change allows Aplicom to continue providing the latest satellite positioning technology.
